ABOUT THE CLASS

Students may begin at the age of 3 to 4years, the first steps of their learning begins with attending the 3-5year old, Early Childhood Music class.

During the first month, the Parents must attend a 30 minute weekly Suzuki Parent class where they will learn about the repertoire and what the expectations are for parent and child, before their child can begin private lessons.

After the first month, the parent and child will observe another child’s lesson and begin their own lesson.

Each Suzuki Family must be a member of the Regina Suzuki Piano Association. This group sponsors recitals and workshops for the Suzuki families each year and is a support system for especially for new parents.

Suzuki instrumental lessons incorporate the Suzuki philosophy, listening, tonalization and musical skills. Through the study of music, students develop confidence, self esteem, concentration skills and the determination to try difficult thing, one step at a time through mastery of each step. Each week the parent and child attend their own private lesson and observe the next student’s lesson. Class times to be determined by teacher and parent.

CLASS REQUIREMENTS
  • Volume 1 - Suzuki Piano Method must be purchased (available at Cobb Swanson)
  • Parents must either purchase (at Cobb Swanson ) or borrow from the Public Library -Where Love is Deep and Ability Development from Age 0 - both by Dr. S. Suzuki
  • Tuition: $850.00/year/ child (payment options to be discussed with teacher)
  • Studio policies will be available at registration
